Are you willing to go where God leads?
Every time I think I know, I actually don't.
Wherever God leads, I'll follow. It's uncanny and unconventional. To an untrained eye, it's quite foolish. But with God it's possible and I'm preparing to testify every step of the way.
In 2020, I was determined to pursue a degree in law after two years of full-time entrepreneurship in design, web development, and branding.
Pursuing a law degree would require me to move halfway across the country to receive residency in a state I had visited five years prior to qualify for in-state tuition. During this season, I learned my SAT allowed me to attend all but one of the top USA schools for undergrad, and I was determined to go to a TOP 20 ranked law school post-grad—no one told me this before applying to undergrad.
I reasoned with the knowledge that if God was calling me into law, I needed to get a job at a law firm. I got my resume redone to reflect my analytical side—and the week I got it back, I saw on the clubhouse app that the @creatorslawfirm was hiring for a remote legal position.
I heard the Lord say they would pull on my design skills as I applied. I told Lord no, that doesn't make sense. I am trying to be a lawyer and park the design train here.
Welp, during my interview, Attorney Davis looked at me and said, "your faith side and analytical side are battling with each other, and God wants you to show up the fullness of who He's called you to be. We hear you say law, but we don't see it. We're considering creating a position for you."
God was right (of course). Not only did they pull on my design skills, but over the last year, my role has evolved to the point I can't see myself not designing or strategizing. So much so that I had the opportunity to rebrand our current website that officially launched today.
Working at the Creator's Law Firm has taught me how to adapt under pressure and become a solution needed for such a time as this. Answers vary based on the problem, and I learned to adjust accordingly.
In this season, I went from entrepreneur to intrapreneur by serving the vision of my supervisor in an environment that fosters empathy and authenticity.
I don't wake up stressed to complete another task or dread going to work each day.
I bring my insight and voice to the table to create alongside other powerhouse women looking to help protect the smarts of the legacy-driven entrepreneurs we are honored to serve daily.
