Sigh.

I’m unsure of what happened regarding shifting me out of this mental fog I’ve been in for the past few weeks, months, and possibly a year, but I, today, am climbing out of this self-imposed pit.

Well, I’m climbing out of whatever this is… because it’s a no for me.

👉🏾 And maybe that’s the lesson, the point.

All of this was to get me to a place of exhaustion around playing it small and safe. Fear will have you playing yourself… even when its control is gone, the residue of fear must clean out the influence it left behind.

The pit (as I interpret it): a place of frustration, isolation, betrayal.

(Reference: The story of Joseph in the Book of Genesis, i.e., Joesph’s brothers threw Him into the pit…)

Yet, I have no excuse!

None.

Nada.

Zilch.

Zero.

No one threw me into a pit. I allowed myself to stay in mediocracy. My pit was self-imposed—mentally.

Today something clicked. My unhealed perspective anchored me; healing set me free.

I believe endurance is the language of maturing. Life is about who we are becoming on the journey. The destination obtained is icing on the cake. And my path, today’s point of arrival, required many deep conversations, introspection, fortitude, and pivots.

Next week I’ll tell you how I moved to Charlotte for one week…Oh, what a lesson of learned.

Who are you becoming? What promises has God spoken over you?

Three months ago, Janae had a plan. Today, I can barely see past tomorrow. Remember Psalms 91:4—He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection?

That’s me! That’s my current season. I feel as if it’s similar for you too.
TODAY, I make a public declaration to STOP PLAYING MYSELF.

To help you remain motivated and encouraged to keep going, I have to stop flirting with double-mindedness, kick mediocracy to the curb, silence self-doubt, and continue documenting my journey by way of faith, design, poetry, writing, and vulnerability consistently.

👉🏾 And maybe that’s the lesson, the point.

We must give ourselves the grace to authentically be with the understanding we aren’t bound by the immature version of ourselves in a moment.
