Encouragement before the harder conversation. Warning, the second half of this message pertains to a sensitive topic:
THE TRUTH IS WE'RE ALL TIRED!
Life isn't out here handing us lemons. Plus, we have no desire to make lemonade even if life did.
Instead, life is giving very much "dis tew much" and baskets full of sorrow with a sprinkle of confusion around endemic, pandemic, wondering if this will end?
💥 It may not...
As our normal shifts daily, finding new amongst the residue, don't lose hope NOW—And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
You are very much alive and breathing. God created you for such a time as this. If God were done, you wouldn't be here, period. The Lord has work left to do in the larger narrative of redemption, and you are one of the arrows he'll use to do it.
1️⃣ LET US NOT GROW WEARY (tired, exhausted, worn out) OF DOING GOOD (morally right, obedient, kind).
2️⃣ FOR IN DUE SEASON (a fixed time), WE WILL REAP (receive, obtain): love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
3️⃣ IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP!
The first time I typed this message, my Facebook messenger crashed. So, therefore, I must say what follows and post it on this blog:
I tend to remain silent on topics I do not understand because I refuse to offer my opinion so quickly or at all on a subject matter as if I'm all-knowing when that is ONLY God's role.
Suicide is a subject matter I have an unpopular opinion towards, solely because God is God, and I am NOT. I do not know the internal battles each of us wrestles daily.
I am just a child of his, working out my salvation with fear and trembling—believing, as He leads, I'll speak hope for us to endure.
And when I'm faced with trials of various kinds, I learned to count it all joy, but that hasn't always been the case. If it weren't for GOD, I would not be typing a message like this today.
I know that pain is real and an indicator that something is wrong.
I know God knows all of the internal struggles.
I know Jesus died for us to live and to live a more abundant life on EARTH.
I know the gospel and Christianity have been abused.
I know you are tired of someone telling you to pray about it and demonizing you for struggling so loudly—depression has a sound.
Please allow me to offer a glimpse of hope:
You are ALIVE today because there is still a purpose behind your breathing.
You are ALIVE today because, on the other side of despair, is life worth living today.
You are ALIVE today.
You are enough!
You do enough!
And there is a cloud of witnessing cheering you on to complete the race, in God's timing, not your own.
Society is deceptive, run by invisible pressures. When you decide to step off the ride of culture and tap into God's potential, navigating the frustrations of life becomes more accessible from God's perspective.
The enemy can only deceive.
Please listen to this message by Pastor Mike Signorelli, who provides biblical insight and practical steps to walk through your moments of darkness. He tackles the subject of suicide, helping us see amongst the heartbreak from recent tragedies.
And if no one told you today, I love you—I love you. Don't stop now. Please keep going.
