How to price your services or products.
For the love of becoming, price points are a matter of understanding worth (value), skill, and QUALITY brought to the table when partnered with working with what you offer.
No need to rush to the thousands when the quality speaks $10…
Okay, let me take my foot off the gas for a second and gently walk us through the skill + value + quality = price increase… perceived value and actual value are NOT the same and perceived value without the skill and/or quality to back it does not justify outrages prices.
Skill is a matter of practice.
Quality is a matter of character in the level of the service or product delivered. Quality increases through practice.
Excellence is required in all things.
Friends, It’s time we discuss this topic around, “my price just went up,” and when it is acceptable to raise the price.

When I started developing brands and websites, I was afraid to charge $250-$500. (My industry for websites alone starts at $3500+ for 3 pages and this does not include brand development: strategy, logos, colors, etc.) Strategy is easy a $10,000+ job.
I am a brand strategist who has the skill to design visuals and develop websites. We are to constantly be positioned to better ourselves through skill and increase in quality.
Social proof (feedback) is what begins to help determine the increase in our price. We are to combine data from what the people are saying with our continuous practice and innovation of skill.
If the quality is subpar there is a breach in the foundation somewhere.
Our work should speak to a certain level of excellence. There is a grace for getting started and at least starting somewhere. But if you are new on the scene there in NO reason to charge two arms and a leg for the sake of “making money.” (And please, don’t get me started again on this entrepreneur topic again… watch last week’s video.)

Sidenote: Marketing is just the ability to plan well. Branding is the overall experience to include the logo, typography, design elements, but it’s really based on how people feel when they experience you, your products, or services. Design is the glue that holds it all together.

I barely touched worth… because it’s a knowing. When you know who you are, you’ll stop playing yourself and get to work to enhance your skill and quality. Work ethic speaks volumes. We must start somewhere. Pricing your items too low is totally a thing, let’s not do that either.
